After it absence last year due to the pandemic, Benidorm will again host this year 2021 the 'Pride Party' with the so-called "European Summer Closing Pride" from September 2 to 5. In addition, some thirty locals await with open arms the attendees of the event with a special program on the 3rd and 4th in the ‘Julio Iglesias’ Auditorium in l’Aigüera Park.
From Wednesday, September 1, animation has already been scheduled in the 'Gay Village' of Benidorm, in an environment in which the organizers have described it as "fun, safe and welcoming". In the words of Mayor Toni Pérez: “Benidorm Pride returns, how could it be otherwise, strong and consolidated in an open city that is turning over with this celebration that closes the European Pride editions. We have supported the organization in scheduling an edition, within the Covid security protocols and parameters, that will turn Benidorm Pride into a national and international reference ”.
The organizers of the event themselves, which could not celebrate last year due to sanitary restrictions, have explained that in this edition the strong point of the party will focus on September 3 and 4 at the 'Julio Iglesias Auditorium', for be a space fully prepared to comply with the necessary security measures to carry out any type of event at this time.
An edition that has been a challenge to organize, but thanks to the support of the Benidorm authorities, it has been possible to create a great program, full of visual shows, shows and tribute performances that will delight attendees.
The event will feature all the local artists from Benidorm on Friday the 3rd in the Auditorium and on Saturday the 4th will perform 'Roser' and the show "Diva's Disco" continuing with 'Delio Stars' and his show "Mariquita Por".
The hilarious and traditional high heels race will also take place on the Auditorium stage.
The performances will begin at 6 in the afternoon, ending at 12 at night, thus complying with the mandatory schedules.
From the organization of the Benidorm Pride Festival 2021 it is considered that the programming of this edition “is varied, entertaining, fun and above all safe; designed so that everyone will take a fond memory of their time in Benidorm and their ‘Pride’ ".
The Gay Village that we mentioned before, is made up of around thirty friendly venues located in the old town of Benidorm in the heart of the city. Which also have security measures, and even in collaboration with Health, in this edition there will also be a Sexual Health Point.
As you can see, Benidorm is an increasingly open and fun city, the 'Benidorm Pride' began in 2011 with 300 attendees and in 2019 it reached 15,000, with a broad international accent and filling the streets of the city with color and joy, for what this year is expected to be a success. Do not miss it!!
