BENIMOV 2021

Benidorm is a city in constant evolution and increasingly involved in sustainability and respect for the environment, therefore, last week the second edition of the Sustainable Mobility Fair was held at 'BENIMOV 2021'. It took place from September 10 to 12 in the final stretch of Avenida Europa, and has been part of the events scheduled for the European Mobility Week.

This fair has allowed its visitors to see first-hand the huge range of electric and hybrid vehicles that are increasingly making their way in cities around the world in order to reduce CO2 emissions.

The organizers, including the Benidormenses authorities attended the inauguration of the event, in which they were able to visit the stands of the eight car brands that have formed the fair.

Toni Pérez stressed the "excellent possibility of testing many vehicles" offered by the exhibition and pointed out that it is "one more attraction of a city that transmits very important messages in terms of sustainable and intelligent mobility". He also stressed that the electric vehicle "is the future and you have to teach it to people."

The brands Ford, Hyundai, Toyota, Volkswagen, Seat, Cupra, Renault, Audi and Ford, have made more than twenty vehicles available to visitors so that they can get to know their operation first-hand and even test them on a street circuit.

BENIMOV, in addition to the stands, had a reception and visitor hall, a parking area for test vehicles, an access banner and capacity control, following the anti-COVID rules and protocol at all times.

Benidorm has undoubtedly anticipated when it comes to betting on this green technology policy compared to other European cities. The mayor has joined the use of the electric vehicle and the conception of Benidorm as a sustainable municipality "allows us to continue enjoying a city intended for pedestrians while we contribute to less pollution and the planet takes a positive balance from our action as humans ”.

In addition, the charging points for electric vehicles have been increased and their use with an APP has been made easier. Currently the City Council has eight charging stations in operation, seven semi-fast and one fast, which are located on Avenida del Mediterráneo, Jaime I, Avenida de Benissa, Avenida Villajoyosa, República Argentina, Tomás Ortuño, Alfonso Puchades and Juan Fuster Zaragoza . To which in the coming months there will be 14 recharging points once four new points are put into operation.
